As you have seen in the previous unit the commonly used fittings can be divided into sanitary fittings bath fittings; plumbing sewer lines. The manufacturing defect cannot be repaired and the fittings are to be carefully examined during procurement and defective fittings rejected. There may be some damage to the fittings during transportation and handling and a check before installation in position is also necessary. As regards defects due to poor worknlanship the work is to be re-done. Hence we will concentrate our studies on the defects that may occur after commissioning of the system due to continuous usage and tear. Repairing materials and tools go hand in hand for any repairing works.
