Formwork is a temporary structure that supports its own weight and that of freshly placed concrete as well as loads due to construction, materials, equipment and workmen. The formwork should be so designed that it has quality, safety and economy built into it. This can be achieved by changeling the proper system, materials and detailing. However, on completion of every use, materials and components of formwork should be examined for damage or excessive deterioration and required before being transferred to the next use or for storage.
