Formwork

All details regarding formwork are given in Section. However some points are reiterated here. 

• See that  the formwork is of good quality and the type conforms to shape, lines and dimensions as shown on drawings. 
• The formwork should be adequately supported to prevent deflection due to weight of wet concrete and labour working with vibrating equipment
•  Ensure that centering rests on level and tirm ground. 
• All formwork shall. be sufficiently water  tight to prevent leakage of mortar. 
• The formwork in contact with concrete shall be cleaned and thoroughly wetted or treated with an approved composition to prevent  adhesion birth concrete 
• Forms shall not be struck until the concrete has  attained a strength at least twice the stress to which the concrete which the concrete may be subjected to at the time of removal of formwork.
