Industrial Relatiom Introduction

With the ongoing liberalisation, privatisation and globalisation of the Indian business environment since 1991 there is constant pressure on the employees for continuous upgradation of their skills, multi-skilling and higher productivity to keep pace with the changing business environment. This has affected the institution of trade unions significantly and has placed demands of different orders on them than what they have been facing in past. As a result of these changes, the industrial relations scenario in the country has gone for sea change compelling trade unions and/employers to adopt policy of co-operation and collaboration rather than that of confrontation.
