Scxial Security Legislations

All those legislabons which extend 'the social security benefits to the workers are known as Social Security Legislations. It includes legislation like Provident Fund & Miscellaneous Act, 1952, Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, Employees Stale Insurance Act,1948, Workmen Compensation Act, 1923, etc. In fact, most of the labour legislations would come under the purview of Social Security Legislations as either it provides some benefits to the workers or it protects the existing conditions of work or benefit. Through various directive principles of state policy, governmnent has pledged itself to protect and promote the interest of working class. In fulfillrnerlt of above objectives, govenlment has enacted various labour legislations.
