The layout of every site may be divided into an administrative area and a construction area. In the former, will be located stores, offices, canteen etc. 'and in the later, will be located consumable stores and all equipment required for construction purposes. The layout of both these areas Corms an essential part (if early planing in every contract, the neglect of which will lead to delay in the initial progress of the job, the tying up of more capital than necessary in materials and financial loss on the part of the' contractor.
Stores and Equipment
A list of the plant tools and equipment needed to start the job has to be prepared by the site engineer. The site engineer should also decide on what heavy plant he will need, e.g. earth moving equipment, dossers, Skinner, diggers, concrete mixing plant etc,
Sheds and Offices
The site layout drawings will state the size and nature of the site office. Space must also be available for timekeepers, checkers, storekeepers', watchman etc. Recovery sissified are necessary for storing cement, tools and'other materials of construction.
The Start of the Contract
Temporary structures such a.. sheds, offices etc are erected first. Then water, electric power - lines, toilets, canteens etc are positioned according to the plan. Access roads, concrete mixers, stockpile bays etc. are put in position. After this the site is cleared and set out. At this stage the construction proper consequences.
