Site Planning

The identification of a proper site for locating a project is a first and foremost step in any construction project. This forms an important activity in the project implementation. This block covers different dimensions and steps involved in the process ranging from site clearance to site organisation. 

This block consists of four units. 

The first block, entitled "Introduction to Site Planning", introduces you with the basics of site planning. It deals with site selection, grading, site drainage and site investigation. It also touches the site organisation just as introductory feature. 

The second block, entitled "Preparation and Interpretation", deals with various Types of drawing and architectural symbols. It also covers the basics of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) used in construction industry. 

The third block, entitled "Site Clearance", describes the various steps involved in the process of preparing the site suitable for construction. It discuss the methods, normally employed for demolition to suit the site requirement. Lastly, unit describes the methods of desalinating the quantity of earthwork involved for site clearance. 

The fourth block, entitled "Site Organisation", gives details of site drainage and site accommodation. It describes the methods of proper storage of construction materials as the site. It also discusses the details of electricity, lighting and proclamation at the site.
